Ramsgate inaugural
Ladies Golf Croquet handicap competition Local croquet player,
Patricia Duke-Cox, went to Ramsgate recently where they were holding their first
handicap golf croquet competition. Seventeen players competed, one being one of
the wildcard selections for the forthcoming Women’s World Championship in
Ireland in September. Two blocks of eight games
were held initially to determine the top players for the main competition, with
the remainder playing a doubles event. Patricia reached the quarter finals but
then retired to the doubles event where she partnered one of the local members,
Gwendoline Shane. Patricia
turned out to be the only winner from away, as she and her partner won the
doubles event. Both winner and runner up of the handicap singles competition
were Ramsgate members who will secure handicap reductions. |
